BC 397 is a nicely restored 4 wheel railcar that operates the free train service to the Museum, a distance of about 5km, Budapest Nyugati.

376 675 is just one of several hundred tank engines built in to thisa general design prior to WW1 - rescued from thje dump at Istvantelek Works.

Fireless 0-4-0 no.91001was built by Krauss & Co. in Linz in 1915 and was brought here from Paks Museum.

No.2, a little 0-8-0T, has obviously come from industry but I know no otther details.

1026, ex MAV 341 012, was built in 1882 and is still operational.

I was rather taken by the similarities of the chimneys on these old 19th century Austrian engines.

M46 2001 looks like an enlarged M44 but I can find no mention of it in my books.

PFT 653 is a 2 litre GAZ M20 saloon, one of 250,000 odd built as road vehicles of varying types, 1945 -58. Thanks to Jack Neville for the info.

This is the 'Hungaria' railcar set, built 1944 by Ganz and rescued for store at Eszaki - just fabulous!

Looking more mthan a little like a 'Black Cab', this is Inspection Saloon IgEII 908.

60352 is a huge rotary snowplough with it's own tender - I'm not sure if it's powered though.

5146 02 is with trailer 6546 03. One of two taken over from OBB on their withdrawal for service on the Nieusedl-am-See branch prior to electrification.

V42 527 is the last complete survivor of a class of 42 engines built in 1966 by Ganz. Many survive as VF carriage heating untis.

V41 523 dates from the mid 60's and shows what a VF unit looks like as a locomotive.

V55 004, which is actually V55 006 (?), dates from 1953.

M28 1001 showing the mechanical drive between the axles, giving it a long wheelbase for such a small engine.

V40 016 is a 2-8-2 built 1934 and was previously plinthed outside Keleti station.

M61 001 sits in the gloom of the roundhouse. These locos have been beautifully restored, this one to it's 1980's Communist livery.

242 001 is a streamlined 4-4-4T, one of 2 built in 1937, for high speed, lightweight outer suburban trains. For many years plinthed at Puspokladany, it is now operational and in steam in this shot.

242 001 is in steam as she sits on the turntable.

M31 2035 inside the diesel roundhouse. Although all withdrawn on MAV, quite a number of these locos are still at work in industry.

A25 016 is heading a train of vintage stock from Nyugati to the Museum for some sort of bash in the evening. I saw them laying out tables in the roundhouse when I was there.
